San Juan del Sur Hostels and Budget Accommodations

Hotel Estrella
One of the oldest buildings in town, locally owned Hotel Estrella offers simple accommodations with shared bathrooms.  Located on the beach front road with great ocean view balconies and open air upstairs rooms.    $10 per person. 

Casa Oro 
Dormitory style accommodations with shared bathrooms.  Nice common area with tourist information.  Casa Oro also runs a daily beach shuttle and trips to see the turtles at La Flor.  $7 per person

Arenas Caliente
This is the surf hostel in San Juan del Sur.  Arenas Caliente offers private rooms with shared bathrooms.  Surf board rentals, lessons, and daily shuttle to Playa Maderas.  $10 per person

Elizabeth’s Guest House
Located in the heart of town on the market street, Elizabeth’s is a popular guest house.  They also rent bicycles.

Basic rooms with shared bathroom  $5 per person

Hospedaje Mercedes
Clean rooms with private bathroom and fan starting. $5 per person, including breakfast. 

Playa Maderas Surf Shack
Rent a room or camp at the rustic and laid back Playa Maderas Surf Shack.  Drinks, food, and surf board rentals and lessons are available.  Rates are $5-$10 per night.   Head out to Playa Maderas for information.
